Her hobbies include spending quality time with her family, painting the beautiful scenery that surrounds us and reading at the beach.
After 12 years of living in this amazing town Vanessa has seen the people of our community help and support each other in ways that make her immensely proud to be able to call Brookings her home. Now she would like to support our community by helping you with your real estate needs.

Peggy was born to parents with a wandering sprit, so while growing up she lived all over California. Then about six years ago on a trip with her Son to check out a college in Oregon, she fell in love with the Oregon coast and all it has to offer. She returned home and told her family and friend that she had found Paradise. It took a couple of more years to get everything in place, but in January 2014 Peggy made the move and has never looked back. Her new life in Brookings has been everything she dreamed. It has also given her the inspiration to dream even bigger dreams. Currently she is excited to launch a new career in real estate while at the same time she is fulfilling a dream of building a new home in Harbor.
Alex came to real estate sales via a winding road; one running through Minneapolis, turning towards Culver City, and finally, thankfully, bumping to an end in Brookings, OR.
In Minnesota, Alex worked for a local TV station as Production Manager on an obscure little show called Mystery Science Theater 3000. That little venture parlayed itself into an 11-year career in film and television production management and a one-way ticket to Los Angeles.
She and husband Michael spent 9 frenetic years in LA, even the family dog had a full schedule. After 5 years of 16 hour days and 7 day work weeks, Alex changed course into animal welfare, working 4 years with the nationally acclaimed SPCA LA. She worked her way up and over into a law enforcement position and spent 3 very satisfying, yet emotionally draining years as a Humane Officer. ” I thought the career change would be accompanied by a great sense of accomplishment. In actuality, I found myself even more exhausted, physically and mentally, than I’d ever been working on set. In my eyes, the punishment rarely fit the crime and Mike and I decided it was time to move on-literally.”
One anniversary trip to Bend, it dawned on them that Oregon was rather beautiful… And the folks were friendly… and the air was clean! So they set out to find the prettiest, friendliest place in Oregon- and they did!
After springing one more dog from the pound, Mike and Alex left LA behind and are enjoying the fantastic wilderness, their distinctly amateur garden and the cozy sense of community they’ve found here in Brookings. Alex has been selling real estate for 8 years now and loves how each day is different. Its a great job, really. it’s not simply about real estate, it’s about welcoming people into the community, finding them exactly what they need, and making sure you’ve built an honest relationship in the process.
I spend most days showing folks from out of town how wonderful our little corner of the Coast is. The rest of the job is helping neighbors market and sell their home so they can move onto the next phase of their life, thats good work if you can get it. You never really stop learning in this business, each and every transaction needs and gets my undivided attention, the fact that many of my clients now consider me a friend? Now THAT gives me a sense of accomplishment.
